The strip search of a pair of Kentucky juveniles arrested on suspicion of drinking at an eighth-grade graduation bash did not violate the Constitution, a federal appeals court decided Feb. 5.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit found that, despite the fact the Hazard County, Ky. youths were arrested on the relatively minor charge of underage drinking, Breathitt Regional Juvenile Detention Center jailers acted within the law to enforce a general strip-search policy for all detainees.
