NEW YORK — A state trial judge has thrown out a jury verdict after determining that a lawyer in the case closely monitored the movements of jurors during trial.
Justice Deborah Karalunas in Syracuse, N.Y., found that Scott Greenspan of law firm Sedgwick violated the “sanctity of the jury” when, over the course of a 15-day trial, he followed jurors, including when they went to lunch. The judge said that jurors were made to feel bothered and scared.
