The wave of new masters in law programs for non-lawyers isn’t slowing down. Northwestern University School of Law is the latest to launch a year-long program intended to give professionals a grounding in law without qualifying them to practice.

The Master of Science in Laws (MSL) is geared toward students with a background in medicine, technology, science, engineering or math, and will focus on the intersection of law, technology and innovation. The program aims to give students a foundation in intellectual property, regulatory law and business contracting. It will begin next fall.
