Butler, Snow, O’Mara, Stevens & Cannada — one of the fastest growing law firms among the NLJ 350 during 2012 — tells recruits something unusual: You might not want to work here. "[If] the dollar is the last and first thing on your list each morning, then Butler Snow might not be for you," firm chairman Donald Clark Jr. said. "We’re very, very different than most firms out there."

With its largest office in Ridgeland, Miss., outside Jackson, Butler Snow grew to 240 lawyers in 2012, a 35 percent increase. It added 35 partners, 13 associates and 10 "other" lawyers, including staff attorneys. The firm, ranked No. 171 on this year’s NLJ 350, has 13 offices, primarily in Southern states including Alabama, Louisiana and Tennessee. Additional offices are located in Bethlehem and Fort Washington, Pa. The firm plans to open a London office on June 25.
