The U.S. Senate unanimously confirmed Sri Srinivasan to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit on May 23, making him President Obama’s first successful nomination to the court and the first new judge there since 2006. Srinivasan is a principal deputy solicitor general in the U.S. Department of Justice.

VERMONT SUES ‘TROLL’

Vermont has become the first state in the nation to file a so-called "patent troll" ­lawsuit, taking action on May 22 against a company that has written to a number of businesses claiming patents to technology that attaches scanned documents to emails over company computer networks. State Attorney General William Sorrell’s suit seeks a permanent injunction against MPHJ Technology Investments LLC.
