Berger Singerman (Miami): Seth Kaplan joins the firm’s business, finance and tax team as partner in the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., office and will focus on personal tax and estate planning for high-net-worth individuals and families. Previously, Kaplan was a partner at Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod.

Baker Hostetler: Dennis Duffy joins the firm’s employment and labor group as partner in the Houston office and will focus on employment law, including defending allegations of discrimination, unfair labor practices, wage and hour violations, whistleblowing complaints and wrongful discharge. Previously, Duffy was a partner at Baker Botts. Adam Schlatner joins the firm’s litigation group as partner in the New York office and will focus on complex commercial litigation. Previously, Schlatner was a partner at Winston & Strawn.

Cozen O’Connor (Philadelphia): Andrew Ross joins the firm’s corporate practice group as partner in the New York office and will focus on domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financing, venture capital and bank financing. Previously, Ross was a partner at Loeb & Loeb.

DLA Piper: Carl Buchholz joins the firm’s litigation practice as partner in the Philadelphia office and will focus on government relations and complex commercial litigation. Buchholz served as managing partner and chief executive officer at Blank Rome from 2006 to 2010. Additionally, Eric Grossman joins the firm’s corporate and finance practice as partner in the Reston, Va., office and will focus on representing clients in connection with acquisitions, private equity and growth equity, and general corporate and securities matters. Previously, Grossman was a partner at Cooley.

Locke Lord: Keith Krasney joins the firm’s corporate and transactional department as partner and chairman of the securitization and structured-finance group in the New York office and will focus on securitization and structured finance as well as mortgage finance. Previously, Krasney was a partner at Nixon Peabody.

McDermott Will & Emery: Marcos Jiménez joins the firm’s trial practice as partner in both the Miami and New York offices and will focus on complex business litigation, white-collar criminal defense and internal investigations. Previously, Jiménez was a partner at Kasowitz, Benson, Torres & Friedman.

Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone (Detroit): Yanping Wang joins the firm’s corporate group and China team as partner and resident director of the firm’s Shanghai office and will focus on corporate transactions and assisting clients in doing business in and with China. Previously, Wang was partner at Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff.
 

Nossaman: Anthony Arostegui and Sylvia Arostegui join the firm’s real estate practice group as partners in the Sacramento, Calif., office. Anthony Arostegui will focus on complex transactions involving the acquisition and divestment of real estate, commercial leasing and real estate financing and Sylvia Arostegui will focus on complex commercial real estate development and loan transactions. Previously, the husband-and-wife team were partners at Trainor Fairbrook.

Venable (Washington): Michael Peskowitz joins the firm’s real estate practice as partner in the New York office and will focus on commercial real estate finance. Previously, Peskowitz was a partner at Sidley Austin.

Pierce Atwood (Portland, Maine): Paul Connolly Jr. joins the firm’s energy practice group as special counsel in the Boston office and will focus on energy and regulatory projects. Previously, Connolly was vice president and general counsel for Iberdrola USA Inc.
