When it comes to automotive seating and related components, Lear Corp. is king. It also is a major supplier of electrical power management systems for automobiles. The company’s primary customers are some of the world’s major auto manufacturers, and its products are designed, engineered and manufactured in 207 facilities in 35 countries.

Lear was founded in 1917 as American Metal Products. William Lear of Lear Jet fame (and, incidentally, inventor of the eight-track audio cartridge) was at one time affiliated with the company.
