The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit has affirmed a bankruptcy judge's determination that a lawyer's fee in a Chapter 13 case be limited to the amount of his retainer. In so doing, the court stressed that a bankruptcy court's explanation of a fee award "need not proceed line by line through the fee application."
