Prominent litigator Pierce O’Donnell continues to fight for his ability to practice law, despite having recently agreed to a plea deal designed to prevent immediate suspension of his California bar license.

O’Donnell pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts for reimbursing employees of his Los Angeles law firm, now called O’Donnell & Associates, who in 2003 made $26,000 in contributions to the presidential campaign of former U.S. Sen. John Edwards (D-N.C.). He agreed to serve 60 days in federal prison and pay a $20,000 fine.
