ASSOCIATE PROMOTIONS TO PARTNER
Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel (New York): Three associates have been promoted to partnership at the firm. Erica Klein, a member of the firm’s intellectual property group, focuses her practice on trademark and copyright law, and on issues relating to e-commerce, Internet law, domain names, rights of publicity and unfair competition. Klein received her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 1998. Douglas Mannal, a member of the firm’s corporate restructuring and bankruptcy group, focuses his practice on representing creditors’ committees, bank agents, ad hoc bondholder groups, indenture trustees and other parties in all aspects of bankruptcy cases, out-of-court restructurings, debtor-in-possession financings, acquisitions, rights offerings and other distressed situations. Mannal received his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 2000. Robin Wilcox, a member of the firm’s litigation group, focuses her practice on white-collar criminal defense, as well as complex securities and commercial litigation. Wilcox received her J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1997.
Bayard (Wilmington, Del.): Trisha Hall joins the firm as an associate and will focus her practice on estate planning, estate and trust administration, and the representation of fiduciaries and beneficiaries. Hall received her J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2001.
Blank Rome (Philadelphia): Carlos Gutierrez joins the firm’s energy industry group as an associate in the New York office. Previously, Gutierrez was an attorney at the New York Power Authority, which he represented in matters of regulation by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Gutierrez received his J.D. from Cornell Law School in 2005.
Harter Secrest & Emery (Rochester, N.Y.): Mark Smith joins the firm’s corporate practice area as an associate and will focus his practice on corporate and financial restructuring matters. Previously, Smith was an associate at DLA Piper. Smith received his J.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School in 2007.
Quarles & Brady (Milwaukee): Three attorneys join the firm’s Tampa, Fla., office as associates. Douglas Knox will practice in the firm’s commercial litigation group and focus on commercial litigation involving banking, franchise, insurance, real estate and construction matters. Knox received his J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2004. Cheryl Lucente will practice in the firm’s corporate services group and will focus on franchise and business law. Lucente received her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law in 2004. Lauren Raines will practice in the firm’s commercial litigation practice group and focus on commercial litigation and real property. Raines received her J.D. from Yeshiva University Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law 2004.
Ruden McClosky (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.): Brian Levy joins the firm’s trusts and estates and tax law practice groups as an associate and will focus on counseling families on estate planning, including wills and trusts; estate tax savings options; gift tax planning; generation-skipping transfer tax planning; and prenuptial agreements. Levy received his J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2009.
