ASSOCIATE PROMOTIONS TO PARTNER

Dykema Gossett: T.L. Summerville and S. Christopher (“Kit”) Winter, two attorneys in the firm’s litigation department, have been promoted to partnership. In the Detroit office, Summerville focuses his practice on business and commercial disputes, consumer finance matters and defense of complex personal injury claims. He received his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law. In the Los Angeles office, Winter focuses his practice on business litigation and strategic planning, with a particular emphasis on Internet, intellectual property and media law. He received his J.D. from the University of California at Los Angeles School of Law.

Hollingsworth (Washington): Philip M. Busman, Gregory S. Chernack, and Michael L. Junk, have been elected to partnership at the firm. Busman focuses his practice on complex toxic tort and products liability litigation. He received his J.D. from American University Washington College of Law in 2000. Chernack focuses his practice on complex civil litigation matters including creditor protection in bankruptcy proceedings. He received his J.D. from Yale Law School in 1998. Junk practices in the firm’s toxic torts and products liability and pharmaceutical products groups and specializes in complex serial and mass tort litigation. He received his J.D. from the College of William and Mary Marshall-Wythe School of Law in 2001.

McManis Faulkner (San Jose, Calif.): Michele Corvi and Matthew Schechter have been promoted to partnership at the firm. Corvi, who co-leads the family law team, focuses on child custody and visitation, domestic violence, child support, spousal support, valuation of property and division of assets. She received her J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2000. Schechter focuses his practice on employment law. Previously, he was an assistant district attorney in the Queens County District Attorney’s Office in New York. Schechter received his J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 1996.

Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison (New York): Craig A. Benson and Elizabeth R. McColm have been promoted to partnership at the firm. In the Washington office, Benson focuses his practice on general commercial litigation matters, including antitrust and intellectual property. He received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2000. In the New York office, McColm focuses on insolvency matters for debtors, official creditors committees, ad hoc bondholder groups, investors and acquirers. She received her LL.B. from the University of Western Australia in1994.

Sutherland Asbill & Brennan (Atlanta): Benjamin H. Sawyer, Bryan M. Ward and Marc A. Simonetti have been promoted to partnership at the firm. In the Atlanta office, Sawyer focuses on complex construction and commercial disputes for construction industry clients. He received his J.D. from Emory University School of Law in 2001. Also in the Atlanta office, Ward focuses on matters involving securities litigation, arbitration and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and financial industry regulatory authority enforcement actions. He received his J.D. from New York University School of Law in 2001. In the New York office, Simonetti focuses on multistate tax planning, litigation and legislative analysis. He received his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law in 2000.

Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker (New York): Lee H. Staley, Adam J. Kipnis, Gregory J. Dell, Debra Adler, George M. Melo and William M. Wingertzahn have been promoted to partnership at the firm.

In the Houston office, Staley focuses his practice on products liability matters for manufacturers, distributors and retailers of consumer appliances and consumer electronics. He received his J.D. from South Texas College of Law in 2000.

In the Newark, N.J., office, Kipnis focuses his practice on mass tort litigation and personal injury, nursing home and environmental defense. He received his J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law in 1999.

In the New York office, Dell focuses his practice on automobile and products liability, labor law and environmental issues. He received his J.D. from New York Law School in 2000.

In the White Plains, N.Y., office, Adler focuses her practice on preparing motions and appellate briefs. She received her J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law in 1999. Melo focuses on products liability suits, personal injury claims and commercial disputes. He received his J.D. from Pace Law School in 2000. Wingertzahn focuses on matters involving lead paint, construction, products and premises liability issues and general negligence. He received his J.D. from Pace Law School in 1992.
