HD Supply Inc. is a wholesale distribution company that provides products and services primarily to business customers in the infrastructure, energy, maintenance, repair, improvement and specialty construction markets. HD Supply operates approximately 800 distribution centers and stores across the United States. During fiscal year 2008, it rang up sales of $9.8 billion. It employs about 16,500.

Once part of The Home Depot Inc., HD was spun off to private equity firms The Carlyle Group, Bain Capital LLC and Clayton Dubilier & Rice Inc. in 2007. Recently, HD sold its lumber supply business to Pro Build Holdings Inc.
