Polsinelli Shughart starts work this month on a new National Institutes of Health contract it won in July, becoming the third new law firm selected this year in the agency's most extensive bidding contest since 2002. The 10-year NIH contract could bring Kansas City, Mo.-based firm up to $87 million worth of patent prosecution work in the mechanical, electrical and software fields over the life of the contract, although the agency has the option to review the contract every year.
