While mergers and acquisitions worldwide continue to plummet, several U.S. law firms, including Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, saw the value of their deals jump significantly during the first quarter 2009, according to a recent report.

The report, issued my Mergermarket, a financial news service, lists law firms that advised corporate transactions, ranked both in terms of volume and value, that were announced in various geographical regions of the world from Jan. 1 to March 31.
