New York’s top court overturned ex-Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein’s rape conviction on Thursday, a split ruling where the majority held that a lower court erred by admitting testimony of uncharged allegations of prior sex acts that had been levied by three women.

Court of Appeals Judge Jenny Rivera wrote the 4-3 majority opinion, joined by Chief Judge Rowan Wilson and Appellate Division Justices Betsy Barros and Christine Clark, who stepped in for recused Judges Caitlin Halligan and Shirley Troutman.
