A South Florida attorney sued Carnival cruise lines Monday in Miami federal court on behalf of a passenger whose on-board doctors allegedly delayed care and later refused to evacuate him from the ship while he was undergoing and after he suffered a heart attack.

Todd Michaels, a partner at the Haggard Law Firm in Coral Gables, claims Chad Reeves was a passenger on Carnival Freeom when he suffered a heart attack that has left him with permanent cardiac damage.
