Marcia Madsen, a dean of the government contracts field in law, died earlier this month from cancer. She was 75 years old.

Madsen was a longtime partner at Mayer Brown and chair of the firm’s U.S. government contracts practice. Madsen, who joined Mayer Brown in 2001, founded the firm’s U.S. government contracts practice, the firm said. She died on March 1 at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C.
