The U.S. Judicial Conference on Tuesday voted to allow the audio broadcasting of some hearings in civil and bankruptcy cases, even after the end of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The policy, which will take effect later this month, permits judges handling civil and bankruptcy matters to provide audio live streams for nontrial proceedings that do not involve witness testimony, the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts said.
