U.S. Federal Trade Commission Chair Lina Khan has misled lawmakers in testifying about her adherence to ethics advice regarding her oversight of online giant Meta’s proposed merger with app maker Within Unlimited, two House Committee leaders stated in a letter to the FTC on Wednesday.

Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan and Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers—both Republican—said they have a report that FTC’s ethics officials had recommended Khan’s recusal to “avoid an appearance of partiality” due to previous comments she made. Khan has not recused.
