Alabama Republican Attorney General Steve Marshall, testifying against the U.S. Supreme Court nomination of Ketanji Brown Jackson, refused on Thursday to say that President Joe Biden was the “duly elected and lawfully serving” president of the United States.
Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-Rhode Island, specifically asked Marshall if Biden is “the duly elected and lawfully serving” president. Marshall said only, “He is president of our country.”
