The Washington, D.C., legal community was saddened to hear Monday of the passing of the highly influential, respected and adored lawyer, David M. Osnos.

With a legal career that spanned seven decades, Osnos was not only a key figure in the history of his firm, serving as Arent Fox’s first chairperson for 20 years at a time when the firm was facing deep financial problems, but also in the development of legal services in the nation’s capital, and, through his pivotal work as a real estate lawyer, the city of Washington itself.
