Following months of rising demand across the board, some law firms in and around Washington, D.C., are promoting bigger, and more diverse, partnership classes.

Richmond, Virginia-based McGuireWoods, which has a strong presence inside the Beltway, has elected its largest-ever class of new partners. Effective Jan. 1, 23 associates at the firm will become partners in offices spanning the firm’s entire geographic print and in a wide range of practice areas.
