A federal judge has selected three lawyers from Miller & Chevalier to examine potential conflicts related to a lawyer’s representation of two different co-defendants in criminal and civil cases tied to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

Andrew Wise, the head of the firm’s litigation department, was appointed ethics counsel by Judge Amit Mehta of the District of Columbia, along with counsel Mary Lou Soller and civil litigation specialist Laura Ferguson. They will examine issues related to attorney Juli Haller’s representation of Connie Meggs in a criminal case tied to the Capitol attack and her husband Kelly Meggs in a civil suit brought by U.S. Capitol police officers.
