Troubled space transportation and infrastructure company Momentus Inc. has hired former U.S. Department of Defense general counsel Paul Ney to serve as the startup’s first-ever chief legal officer and corporate secretary.

Ney touches down at Momentus as the Silicon Valley-based company and its leaders, including a new CEO who worked with Ney at the Defense Department, look to move forward following a bumpy merger with special purpose acquisition company Stable Road Acquisition Corp.
