Medical device manufacturer C.R. Bard Inc. is in talks to settle thousands of lawsuits filed by women over its pelvic mesh products.

U.S. District Judge Joseph Goodwin on Feb. 12 appointed Ellen Reisman, a partner in the Los Angeles office of Washington’s Arnold & Porter, “to facilitate settlement discussions” between plaintiffs attorneys and Bard, which faces more than 14,000 lawsuits in state and federal courts nationwide.
