Marking a win for Pandora Inc. and its lawyers at King & Spalding, a federal appeals court sided with the online radio company Wednesday in a battle with the world’s largest performing rights organization and music publishers Universal Music Publishing Inc., Sony/ATV Music Publishing LLC and EMI Music Publishing.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit affirmed a pair of rulings by U.S. District Judge Denise Cote in Manhattan, who had mostly sided with Pandora in a closely watched rate-setting dispute with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. Jeffrey Bucholtz of King & Spalding argued the appeal for Pandora. Jay Cohen of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison argued for ASCAP.
