About a month after an Atlanta federal court divided the Home Depot Inc. data breach litigation into two tracks, a judge has selected the lawyers who’ll spearhead the massive case for consumers and financial institutions pursuing claims against the retailer.

In orders issued Friday and Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Thomas Thrash appointed co-lead counsel from a half-dozen firms to lead the case, giving the retailer’s lawyers at King & Spalding and Alston & Bird an idea of who their main adversaries will be.
