Challengers to federal subsidies under the Affordable Care Act have asked the U.S. Supreme Court to review their defeat before a unanimous appellate panel last week.

Jones Day’s Michael Carvin, who represents four Virginia plaintiffs in a suit coordinated and funded by the conservative Competitive Enterprise Institute, filed a petition for review in King v. Burwell on Thursday with the high court. The group chose to forgo review by the full U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
