The annual reports on securities class action filings are always so chock full of numbers and trends that they leave us a little breathless. It seems like we give the practice short shrift, especially considering that it generates hundreds of new cases per year and it is so central to many Big Law litigation shops. So, we’re going to try something a little different this go-round. This morning, with Cornerstone Research releasing its latest annual report on securities class action activity, we’re going to dig into the raw numbers—the whats and wheres of this year’s new filings. Tomorrow we’re going to go into the hows and whys behind those numbers with a couple of top practitioners—one from either side of the bar—to try to take fuller stock of what’s going on out there.
