In two closely watched matters, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit rejected petitions to halt opioid trial scheduled to begin later this month in Cleveland or recuse the federal judge overseeing it.
The orders, on Thursday, allow an Oct. 21 trial to go forward in which two Ohio counties have alleged that several defendant companies caused the opioid crisis, which has led to rising numbers of overdoses and addictions.
