Apparently, it isn’t enough for the copyright plaintiffs suing Sirius XM Radio that they’ve gained the upper hand in the litigation, or that an early bid to buttress the company’s defense by Sirius XM’s newly hired lawyers at O’Melveny & Myers was a flop. This week the plaintiffs asked a judge to sanction O’Melveny for its conduct, asserting that the firm used bogus arguments to mislead the court.

Attorneys representing two founding members of the rock band The Turtles filed a motion for sanctions on Monday in U.S. district court in Los Angeles. The band members accuse O’Melveny of recklessness and bad faith and are demanding more than $50,000 in attorney fees.
