A panel of legal technologists spoke to a room of about 120 attorneys at the State Bar of Georgia about core ways the state’s legal community can begin to embrace—not dread—legal tech innovations. Here are some of the top three takeaways:

Make use of what you’ve already got.

Ed Walters, founder of FastCase, cited famed venture capitalist Ann Winblad in urging attorneys to consider their data as the oil of today. Too often, Walters said, lawyers simply toss away all the valuable data that could be drawn from their work.
