E-discovery standards organization EDRM will launch a new project to develop a tool to help member legal organizations assess the data security strength of e-discovery third-party vendors.

According to a statement from the organization, a group of “experienced and qualified EDRM members” will lead the effort to develop tools for member organizations to evaluate key weaknesses in e-discovery data security practices and systems that they may need to consider in assessing their own security needs or choosing a third party.
