From social media and video to text and instant messages, modern e-discovery platforms give practitioners the agility and range to keep up with an increasingly expansive and dispersed pool of discoverable data. But for all the advances, one conventional communication channel has often been overlooked and underserved, despite its increasing importance in litigation and regulatory matters: audio data.

Audio analytics, however, is quickly finding its way into the modern e-discovery ecosystem. Deloitte Discovery, for example, recently announced the launch of Audio Assistant for use with kCura’s Relativity platform. The audio tool enables transcription, collection and audio analytics, as well as the indexing and searching of audio files.
