Identifying and properly managing sensitive data is the first line of defense legal professionals have against data breaches and noncompliance. But given data’s unwieldy growth and mobility, it is a line that is getting more and more difficult to build and hold. Many legal technology firms, however, are hoping they can supply the right tools to make this protection as effortless and intuitive as possible.

Technology and unstructured data search firm Nuix, for example, recently released upgrade 2.2 to its Nuix Sensitive Data Finder platform (SDF), which applies the company’s proprietary search, analysis, and indexing engine across file shares, databases, and other storage systems to find and protect confidential information.
