Perhaps one of the biggest testaments to the scope and power of the e-discovery market is the number of mergers and acquisitions arising in the space over the previous year. The latest company to enlarge its grasp on the market is international e-discovery solution provider Xact Data Discovery (XDD), which recently announced its acquisition of San Francisco-based F1 Discovery. The terms of the acquisition weren’t disclosed.

XDD’s acquisition of F1 Discovery, which specializes in providing e-discovery services to corporate clients and law firms, is part of an ongoing growth strategy that has so far included the acquisition of Utah-based Orange Legal Technologies in January. Orange Legal Technologies’ focus includes litigation e-discovery services, audit and investigation support, and specialized offerings for industries like financial services, commodities, pharmaceutical and medical devices, and antitrust litigation.
