eSentire, a Canadian-based managed cybersecurity services company, has raised $19.5 million in new funding. The funding round was co-led by Edison Partners and Georgian Partners. Also taking part were Cisco Investments, Northleaf Ventures Catalyst Fund and Information Venture Partners II, many of whom were previous investors.

The money will allow the active threat protection solutions and services company to improve its presence in key markets, launch security operations in new regions and verticals, and expand in cloud-based threat intelligence harvesting, sharing and automated protection, the company said in a statement.
