While cloud adoption has significantly increased across all industries, a recent report from data security firm Bitglass has revealed that adoption of the cloud in regulated industries jumped from 15 percent in 2014 to 39 percent in 2015, with adoption in unregulated industries increasing from 26 percent last year to 50 percent this year.

Dave Packer, vice president of product marketing at cloud-based data protection provider Druva, told Legaltech News that there are multiple factors relating to the significant increase in adoption of cloud services over the past year, but the trend most commonly seen is related to cloud service provider maturity, specifically Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.
