For some, the desired or needed legal representation is out of reach. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean a client qualifies for free legal aid, which brings about the question: who fills the gap? The DC Affordable Law Firm (DCALF) takes that space for Washington D.C. residents, and Bloomberg BNA has announced that it will provide the firm with its legal technology platform, Bloomberg Law, free of charge.
Legaltech News got in touch with DCALF director Sheldon Krantz to discuss the benefits Bloomberg provides for both the firm and its clients. Krantz, who also divides his time as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University’s law school, said that, “Being able to use Bloomberg Law to gain access to books and treatises and useful forms is beneficial because it would have been difficult for us to purchase these materials with the limited budget we have.”
