Reed Smith has had a focus on practicing financial industry-related law since the Carnegie and Mellon days. Over the past couple of years, though, San Francisco-based partner David S. Reidy said that he’s seen a change in the industry.

“Over the past few years, it’s become clear to us that the industry was moving in a new direction with tech,” he told Legaltech News in an interview. “And these FinTech companies have been sprouting up every year at an exponential rate, really taking the industry in a new direction.”
