Perhaps no legal profession has been as affected by the rise of new technologies as that of the law librarian. As new research platforms come to the fore, librarians have seen a necessary shift in job function.

“Law librarians are on the receiving end of some disruption in the legal industry… because of that disruption, they’ve had to spend time thinking about where else they’re valuable,” David Perla, president of Bloomberg Law, told Legaltech News in a recent interview. “They’ve been put on the defensive, and one of the healthy outcomes of that is them thinking about ways to demonstrate value.”
