Studies report that phishing attempts made via e-mail is the top security threat prompting an alert by KnowBe4, a security awareness training provider.

“Law firms (and accountants) are perfect targets for cyber criminals working on a big payoff,” the company stated. “Ransomware has been used in many a scenario as a distraction to get into a system and capture sensitive information and trade secrets or it can be used to extort money directly.”
