It’s that time of the year again. You’ve just received that shiny new tablet or smartphone and are wondering how this new gadget can help you in your daily work. Do you really want to carry around another device? Do you really have time to learn yet another tool? If a new piece of technology or an upgrade to your current mobile device causes you to throw up your hands, don’t despair! Here are a few great starting places for getting the most out of your new tablet or smartphone.

The key to successfully using mobile devices in everyday legal work is to start with one or two tools or apps, become familiar with each and build from there. Ask your colleagues what they use. If your organization has a librarian ask him for suggestions. Often, librarians have been reviewing these tools, especially in the research and productivity spaces, and may already have a list to recommend.
