Elite, the billing and practice management division of Thomson Reuters, is continuing its push into overseas markets and midsize law firms, as well as planning more acquisitions for 2012.

Acquisitions are the best way to accomplish that expansion, because the popular 3E application is too complex for some firms, and the smaller ProLaw software lacks an overseas presence, explained Patrick Hurley, senior director of operations.
