Never mind all the economic doom and gloom, there’s gold in them thar hills, insists David Cowen, president of The Cowen Group, a New York-based consultancy. Well-paid executive jobs await veteran litigation professionals who understand electronic data discovery and compliance, he predicts.

At a “New Leaders” breakfast in Nashville, Tenn., Cowen explained that risk management staffing is escalating. BigLaw and corporate counsel will soon be looking for leaders who can serve as advocates who will serve as a bridge between law firms and their clients as both struggle with e-discovery and compliance issues. Within two years, these new executive-level jobs will appear, with salaries in the $225,000 to $325,000 range, he forecasts.
