Taiwan’s Synology (www.synology.com) has launched its DiskStation DS210+ network attached storage server. Designed for small and medium organizations, it offers data read speeds of 108 MB per second, and write speeds of 58 MB/sec.

It features a 256-bit hardware encryption engine that can offload the server’s security encryption tasks away from the main CPU to reduce its impact on file transfer speeds.
