A pair of University of Chicago alumni have made it their mission to help chronically underfunded public defenders better prepare for court hearings with the latest in captured video and audio transcription.

One of the earliest agencies to benefit from a service that catalogs law enforcement body camera and other video and audio media is the Harris County Public Defender’s Office, which has been part of a pilot program since 2020.
