Australian mining billionaire Andrew Forrest has launched criminal proceedings against Facebook, alleging his name and likeness have been used by scammers to defraud users of the social media platform out of millions of dollars.

Forrest says it is the first time Facebook has faced criminal charges globally and is alleging the tech giant has committed offenses against Australia’s anti-money laundering laws.
