Like their law firm and corporate clients, some legal tech companies are requiring those returning back to the office to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. But setting such a requirement isn’t easy. Vendors noted they must toe a sensitive line of providing a safe work environment and not intruding on employees’ personal views.

For some legal service providers, vaccinations presented the safest opportunity to return back to in-person meetings and working. For instance, in early June, contract review attorney provider InCloudCounsel required its employees that wanted to return to the office or meet outside of the office for work-related matters to be vaccinated. While remote accommodations are still provided and encouraged, InCloudCounsel COO and co-founder Ben Levi said the vaccination requirement was implemented to protect employees’ health.
