With more law firms increasing first-year associate pay to $200,000 and the continuing pressure on in-house counsel to contain legal spend, legal invoices are coming under deeper scrutiny. To help corporate legal departments improve their evaluation of legal bills, SimpleLegal is the latest legal tech company to release an artificial intelligence-powered invoice review tool.

Today, the legal operations platform launched invoice review tool SimpleReview that will join SimpleLegal’s suite of reporting and analytics software and spend, matter and vendor management tools. SimpleReview will be available as part of the SimpleLegal subscription plan until the end of the year, said SimpleLegal vice president of products and design Shri Iyer. There’s no plans to make SimpleReview a standalone product, a SimpleLegal representative added.
